This Weeks Progress

From the work we did this week, we finished the main points of our goal. We finished the primary game scene, intro scene, and the team introduction. We had to work hard to get the scenes perfect. After we finished the main scenes, we started to add a help screen. For next week, I want to add as many scenes as we can so we will be ready for the game demo presentation. Next week we will have to work really hard to finish the game demo. Our team is working pretty hard. I think that someone could work a little harder. He could try to do some of the things that we are working on. We can try to help him as he goes along. One of the major things I want to accomplish is putting more scenes on our team page. Another thing is adding more scenes to the game demo. And the last thing I want to accomplish next week is to understand more about the timeline.

Game Demo Presentation

The last two days assembling my our game demo haven't been that bad. I think that the only thing that is kind of challenging in Flash is trying to operate the timeline. We have accomplished putting the Intro Scene in, the Team Introduction, and the Primary Game Scene. I think that I have accomplished learning allot more about Flash in the last couple of days. I think it's pretty easy putting in scenes on to the Game Demo. The hardest part in my opinion is trying to do things on the timeline. I think that two of the team members are working equally, but one is doing nothing. Are plans are adding more scenes to our Game Demo. I want to be at least half way finished by the end of the week.

Working in Flash/Game Demo Progress

It's been difficult but i have learned a lot from it. I understand how to add buttons and add navigation to the Game Demo Skeleton. I think that I know enough to work alone on buttons and adding navigation. After I had some help, I finally got my buttons to work. If I click test move, my buttons will work and take me to the next scene. I think the most challenging parts of working in Flash are the time line, key frames, and just making sure everything is correct. If you make a small mistake, then the game demo gets messed up. It's also kind of hard to navigate through Flash.

Adding Sound to Game

I learned how to put sounds onto flash. We plan on adding sounds such as, fans cheering, a baseball hitting a bat, the umpire yelling, the pitcher throwing the ball, songs about baseball in general. The sounds will make the game more interesting and they will be more relaxing to the player. Sound is important in games because it makes the game more interesting and more relaxing to the player. When I play racing games, it usually has the sound of the car, and sometimes traffic noises. The racing game sometimes has music in it too.

Game Demo Skeleton

The live session made things a lot more easier to understand. After we watched the session, it was easier to navigate through Flash. I learned how to put things on the time line and how to create different things in Flash. It was some what confusing trying to make the game-demo-skeleton but it was more clear after the live session. I think if we remember how to do a few things then we should be able to do it.

Adding Sound

The importance of a sound in a game is to make it fun and joy full. It makes the game more interesting. I have played games about driving cars that have sounds such as a car driving, and the other cars around it. The game also had music which made it more fun. Our game will have sounds such as the crowd cheering, the bat hitting the ball. We might have song in it such as "Take Me Out to Ball Game", or something like that. Songs and sounds make games more interesting.

Drawing in Flash

The subject of our game is about baseball. You have to figure out the equation to get to the next base. If you get get four equations right, then you get a home run. As soon as you get an equation wrong, then you are OUT!!! The concept of the game is to have fun playing baseball but also learning how to solve volume equations at the same time. Our inspiration for the game is the challenge of baseball and the excitement of the game.
